2ndMiracle in Cell No. 7 continues the touching story about the relationship between a father, Dodo Rozak, who is mentally retarded, and his daughter, Kartika Rozak. Previously, Dodo's father, who continued to struggle to be with his daughter, had to face the bitter reality that the existing legal system continued to make his progress difficult. Then, the prisoners and Hendro decided to fight meaningfully in their own way to get justice.As previously explained, his first film, Miracle in Cell No. The Indonesian version of 7 is an official adaptation of the South Korean film with the same title which was released in 2013 and is the work of Lee Hwan-kyung. Miracle in Cell No. 7 apparently received a positive response from Indonesian film audiences. The film achieved great success by gaining more than 5 million viewers in just 22 days of screening in cinemas throughout Indonesia. 

This success encouraged the production house Falcon Pictures to continue this very touching story. 2nd film Miracle in Cell No. 7 received support from the original creator of the film to develop an original narrative originating from the first film produced by Falcon Pictures. As for the 2nd film Miracle in Cell No. 7 carries the family drama genre and is directed by Herwin Novianto, who was trusted to handle this sequel after his success with the film Kang Mak From Pee Mak. Herwin promises something different but still touching like the first film, with the hope of returning to feeling the emotion and warmth of family love which is at the heart of this story.
